Within my 10years+ of training people from all aspects of life I believe I have seen first hand the benefits of exercise for children with Autism. It is a really amazing feeling seeing first hand the changes and improvements in children's behaviour patterns once they begin routined exercise, I highlight routined here because I believed having the consistent training is far more beneficial than exercising just here and there without the routine and chance to build rapport. The benefits of exercise for children with autism I have seen include:
Improving motor skills: Many children with autism have difficulties with their motor skills, and exercise can help improve their coordination, balance, and overall physical abilities.
Reducing anxiety: Exercise has been shown to reduce anxiety in children with autism. Exercise releases endorphins, which can help reduce stress and promote feelings of happiness and well-being.
Improving social skills: Exercise can provide opportunities for children with autism to interact with their peers in a structured environment. This can help improve their social skills and reduce social anxiety.
Improving sleep: Exercise can help regulate sleep patterns in children with autism, which can improve their overall health and well-being.
Reducing challenging behaviours: Exercise can help reduce challenging behaviours in children with autism, such as aggression, self-stimulatory behaviour, and self-injury.
Boosting cognitive function: Exercise has been shown to improve cognitive function in children with autism, including attention, memory, and processing speed.
Overall, exercise can be an important part of a comprehensive treatment plan for children with autism, promoting physical health, social skills, and overall well-being.
